Mindfulness for Children

So what is mindfulness? And how can it benefit children?

Put simply, mindfulness is noticing what is happening right now. This could be noticing how your body feels, what you can see, taste and smell. It could also be emotions in your body, a tight muscle or a nice sensation. It is noticing what your mind is doing.

Research has shown that mindfulness can help children to increase their ability to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset, improve social skills and to develop problem-solving and better decision-making skills.
